Dangerous Cargo Regulations

Dangerous goods are all those substances listed in the I.M.D.G. Code published by the International Maritime Organisation. (IMO)

It is mandatory for ship operators to declare all dangerous goods on board in the form prescribed under the IMDG code. Trade names of dangerous goods are not acceptable. Each commodity must be declared in terms of the full chemical descriptions of the substances, it's U.N. Code number and the I.M.D.G.Code page number.


Conventional dangerous cargo and containers with dangerous cargo will be subject to a 10 percent surcharge of normal shore handling or stevedoring charges as stipulated into tariff book.
