Crew Issues

(a)  Immigration requirements at Gangavaram Port are same as for other Indian Ports.  Gangavaram Port is under the jurisdiction of Immigration Authorities at Visakhapatnam, who also attend to the requirements of vessels calling at Gangavaram. All Immigration related matters are as per the policies of Government of India.


(b)  Crew change is possible in the Port.


(c)  Crew and officers joining the vessels at Gangavaram, like any other Indian port, must have 'Transit Visa', without which embarkation of crew and officers is not allowed.


(d)  For off-signers, Immigration Authorities will issue 'Travel Permit'   on submission of guarantee letter from ship’s Agent and PTA for the off-signers. No Visa is required.


(e)  The foreign officials, Superintendents and owners representatives visiting the Port or vessels must possess 'Business Visa' for grant permission by the Immigration Authorities.


(f)   Repatriation of Pakistani/ Bangladeshi/ Chinese/ Sri Lankan/ Nigerian/ Ethiopian/ Somali / Iranian/ Iraqi nationals is not permitted, unless in emergency such as hospitalization.


(g)  Shore passes are not issued to Pakistani, Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi nationals, as per Government of India policy.


(h)  Seaman mission is in Visakhapatnam city.


No embassies/ consulates are available in the city.
