MACN aims to pilot collective action addressing maritime corruption in Ukraine and is seeking to fully understand the challenges and get better data before approaching the authorities and local stakeholders.
BIMCO regularly receives reports from members having experienced corrupt practices in Ukraine and will work with MACN to highlight systemic issues to the Ukrainian government and local authorities. BIMCO supports MACN’s efforts to fight corruption in shipping and believes the survey will be useful in gaining insight to the issues around improper demands in the ports of Ukraine. Members are therefore strongly encouraged to respond to the survey, which can be found here.
MACN recently released its annual report for 2018 in which more information can be found about progress on various collective actions and other activities undertaken by the network.
