Vermiculite

Description

A mineral of the mica group. Greyish with average moisture content of between 6 -10%. May give off dust. Bulk density: 730 kg/m3.  Non-IMSBC Code information: Vermiculite consists of hydrated magnesium-iron-aluminum-silicate. Has high porosity, low density and is insoluble in water and organic solvents. Used for insulation, fireproofing, plaster, additive for fertilizers, animal feed additive and adsorbent, amongst other things.
