Diammonium phosphate (D.A.P.)

Description
White crystals or powder. Can be dusty depending on source of cargo. Hygroscopic, i.e., taking and retaining moisture quickly.  Bulk density (kg/m3): 833 to 999. Non-IMSBC Code information: soluble in water but not in alcohol. Processed as fertiliser for use on grain; and on cane and horticulture if used with other mixtures. Has a slightly pungent odour. Other uses: flameproofing of wood, paper and textiles, manufacture of yeast, vinegar and bread improvers, flux for soldering tin, copper, brass, zinc and purifying sugar.
Trade Names (Synonyms)
DAP - ammonium phosphate, dibasic - ammonium phosphate, secondary - diammonium hydrogen phosphate - diammonium orthophosphate - monoammonium orthophosphate - ammonium phosphate.
