All vessels, while in proximity of Bahrain light vessel must establish contact with Bahrain Port control on VHF Channel 74. As the ship proceeds inwards and while passing the sea marks, reporting must be maintained. Pilot boards vessel at Sitra Beacon. If required vessel may anchor one mile south off buoy 27 in consultation with Bahrain port control. Vessels calling Bahrain ports need not send ETA notices direct to the port, instead same can be given through local agent.

In addition to ETA, agents have to declare last three ports of call to local authorities in advance. If one of the last three ports is Iranian or Iraqi port, then coast guard is to be notified who will board vessel for inspection and to grant clearance. The Vessel is allowed to berth only after coast guard clearance.
