BIMCO started reporting from 30 September 2020, a series of articles, informing members of what to expect in the revised International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) Code (Amendment 05-19), which will come into force on 1 January 2021. This is the 5th article in the series. Today, BIMCO reports on a new table of physical properties and hazard classification for cargo entries in the IMSBC Code.

New Bauxite circular out warning on new hazard of bauxite cargoes in bulk

A new Bauxite circular warning about a new hazard of these cargoes relating to moisture has been issued by the IMO following the meeting held by its Sub-committee on the Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC) last week. This new IMO bauxite circular supersedes CCC.1/Circ.2 and issues new guidance on the carriage of bauxite cargoes.

IMDG Code criteria for use of data loggers sensors and cargo trackers during transport

New criteria for tracking and monitoring equipment used in transport of dangerous goods under the International Maritime Dangerous Goods ( IMDG) Code were finalised at the International Maritime Organization (IMO)'s Sub-Committee for the Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC) at their 8th meeting held from 14 to 23 September 2022. A transitional phase for implementation was also introduced.
