BIMCO provides the full write-up on the final guidance issued by t he International Maritime Organization (IMO) relating to corrosivity test for use in the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) Code . This test is used for classify ing solid bulk cargoes that are hazardous when transported in bulk (MHB cargoes) .

New bauxite cargoes in BIMCO solid cargo database

Testing of solid bulk cargoes for corrosivity - IMO issues final guidance

BIMCO providing guidance on the corrosivity test that is applied to solid bulk cargoes under the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes ( IMSBC) Code. This is for testing of solid bulk cargoes as corrosive solids under the hazard classification of materials that are hazardous when transported in bulk (MHB).

A valuable supplement to the IMSBC Code, containing cargo information and carriage requirements of solid bulk cargoes commonly transported. Amendment (Amdt) 06-21 (2022 edition) is the current Code in force effective 1 December 2023. Amdt 07-23 is in voluntary application effective 1 January 2024 and will enter into mandatory force on 1 January 2025.
