The Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) has announced a temporary measure - a remote inspection regime - as an additional tool within its Ship Inspection Report (SIRE) programme. This temporary measure has been developed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 between an inspector and ships’ crew.
BIMCO is revising its popular suite of ship management and related third-party management agreements to reflect current practices in the market. Border closures and national restrictions following the Covid-19 pandemic have left hundreds of thousands of seafarers trapped on board ships, or unable to join ships. At meetings at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) starting on 16 November, the IMO is once again pledging Governments to designate seafarers as key workers.
Minor modifications have been made to the BIMCO Shipping-KPI platform with the introduction of the new frontpage and relocation of the report-generation tool. With 7.500 unique submitted ships and approximately 2.000 submissions each quarter, the foundation for well-supported benchmarking is in place at the KPI.
