The revision of BIMCO’s top-selling contract, SUPPLYTIME 2005, has now reached a stage where it is appropriate to consult with the wider industry about the changes made to the contract so far.

A selected consultation group from the offshore industry including owners, charterers, brokers, insurers, P&I clubs and legal experts, have recently contributed with feedback on the revised SUPPLYTIME form. This process has helped the drafting team in reviewing and “polishing” the current draft during a two day meeting at BIMCO House in November.

BIMCO has initiated work to develop a standard charter party for Accommodation Support Vessels (ASVs) to provide the industry with a balanced standard document that can be used in the offshore sectors.

Personal Data Protection Clauses for SHIPMAN, CREWMAN, SUPPLYTIME and GUARDCON are available now. These are additional clauses that can be added to specific BIMCO contracts if parties need wording to cover personal data protection legislation.

ROPAXTIME is a standard time charter party for the RoPax trade. It can be amended to be used for RoRo ships as well. The charter party contains the latest standard time charter clauses and includes detailed provisions covering trade specific issues such as hotel, restaurant and passenger related issues.

PROJECTCON is a special projects charter party for the tug and barge sector. It was designed to remove the need to use up to three different contracts for the same project when operating a tug and semi-submersible barge in combination to transport of special or projects cargoes. Instead of having one contract for the hire of the barge, another for the hire of the tug, and a third for the transportation, PROJECTCON may be used as a single contractual platform.
The latest edition of this contract is PROJECTCON, issued in 2006.

LAYUPMAN is a standard contract for the laying up of ships. The owners appoint the managers to carry out the services in relation to the laying up of the ship as agents for and on behalf of the owners.
