International Shipping and Maritime Trade

25 April 2024

The training program has been specifically tailored to meet the needs of individuals who require an understanding of the maritime industry within a condensed two-day timeframe. It is designed especially for professionals in the public and political sectors. Still, it will be suitable for a wide range of professionals with a vested interest in learning more about the maritime and shipping sector. The programme has been developed jointly by the Antwerp Maritime Academy, The Belgian Shipowners Association, and BIMCO. Each organisation contributed unique skills to enhance the program's quality and relevance. The programme is practical in scope, with a visit to the Port of Antwerp and presentations on contemporary topics like global regulations affecting shipping and their commercial strategies, sustainability efforts in shipping, and an overview of shipping as a critical infrastructure component in global trade.
