The BIMCO Maritime Information department informs members on a weekly basis, updates about the COVID-19 in relation to implementation measures imposed by governments for sea transport including for crew change as well as from the United Nation bodies like the International Maritime Organization (IMO), World Health Organization (WHO) and International Labour Organization (ILO). BIMCO provides the following update for this week ending Friday, 28 May 2021.
A new feature in the BIMCO Shipping-KPI allows users to easily operate larger and more complex fleet setups.
BIMCO Shipping-KPI, developed by the industry and for the industry as a mean for measuring ship performance, has been overhauled with a user-friendly interface. Access instruction videos, sign up for a free guided tour, and get technical support. While BIMCO members can join for free, non-members can register at a small fee for 2023. No limitations on users, submissions, or benchmarking.

The planned release of a new spreadsheet format for data submissions scheduled for launch in the second half of 2021 heralds an increased focus on account management for users of the BIMCO Shipping-KPI.
BIMCO has appointed Jakob P. Larsen as Head of Maritime Security. He has a broad maritime experience from both the private and public sector – and always with a large security component.
In May, BIMCO encouraged users of the Shipping-KPI system to continue reporting during the pandemic. This month the message is reiterated.
Work to revise the BIMCO War Cancellation Clause 2004, the BIMCO War Risks Clause for Time Chartering 2013 (CONWARTIME 2013) and the BIMCO War Risks Clause for Voyage Chartering 2013 (VOYWAR 2013) clauses has begun, and the subcommittee has just had its third meeting.
BIMCO's position has been approved by the BIMCO Board of Directors.
