Description
Crystals that are colourless, odourless and transparent. A natural salt. Hygroscopic. Soluble in water.  Bulk density: 508 -719 kg/m3. Non-IMSBC Code information: also soluble in glycerol and slightly soluble in alcohol. Has a slight bitter taste. Widely used in the chemical industry, e.g., colour fixative and preservative in cured meats, fish etc, dyes, dynamites, black powders, fertiliser, flux, glass and soap manufacture, oxidising agent, pharmaceuticals, modification of tobacco's burning properties, sodium salts and nitrates manufacture and solid rocket propellants.
