Description

Dried kernels of coconuts. Has penetrating rancid odour that could taint other cargoes. Bulk density: 500 kg/m3. Non-IMSBC Code information: high oil content. Oil obtained from the copra, also known as coconut oil, is used for the manufacture of butter, cream and milk substitutes as well as soap, candles manufacture etc. Two types of copra that are shipped ; they are white copra (sun dried) and black copra (kiln dried); the former being more valuable but more prone to insect attacks.
