Wind and Sea
Easterly and northeasterly winds are predominant over this region of Puerto
Rico. January through March is the windiest season. September through
November is the calmest season. The principal season for hurricanes activity
is during late summer and early fall.
The wave action in the vicinity of the channel entrance is
generally from east or southeast. Wave heights are less than 6 feet 90% of
the time, however, during tropical storms or hurricanes waves heights can
get substantially higher.
