BIMCO’s Documentary Committee adopted two new contracts and two clauses at its meeting on 29 November. The two clauses will be published immediately. The contracts will be published in early January.
Building on the success of its widely used GUARDCON contract for the employment of security guards on ships, BIMCO is to develop a new standard contract for hiring the services of security escort vessels (SEV).
The manual contains guidance to shipowners, masters and crew on the most pertinent security challenges facing the maritime industry today.
