Singapore MPA to ban use of open-loop scrubbers

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has decided to prohibit the use of open-loop exhaust gas cleaning systems within its port limits, as of 1 January 2020.  MPA chief executive, Andrew Tan, announced the new regulation, which is already part of current legislation, in his opening address at the Singapore Registry of Ships Forum.
