New features in BIMCO Shipping-KPI

Published: 26 October 2021

With the most recent deployment of the BIMCO Shipping-KPI, users will be able to take advantage of new ways of submitting data as well as better management tools

The Comma-Separated Value (CSV) file can be a little cumbersome to handle, due to different data formats being used by different locations across the globe.

We have previously given advice on how users in small and medium-sized companies can benefit from using the spreadsheet submissions, since it is an easy way to apply a lot of data to many vessels at once. However, the data format must remain the same. Some advance settings may even be required in order to take full advantage of this tool for data submission. With the new deployment, users are given the option of choosing between CSV and Excel format. This upcoming deployment will essentially provide a tool for small and medium-sized companies to easily maintain their fleet in the BIMCO Shipping-KPI platform.

Another improvement BIMCO Shipping-KPI users can look forward to is the option of using fleets as a tool to group ships. Previously, users were limited to creatively using the Business Units feature to group ships.

Fleets can be used as a tool both directly under the company as well as under individual business units, whereby small and medium-sized owners will benefit from more intuitive tools while large owners will be able to group ships under each business unit.
