Agency fees recommended by the Visakhapatnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry for rendering services to vessels calling at Visakhapatnam
  The fees are effective from 1 January 2002 to 31 December 2003.
  All fees are expressed in US Dollars.
1. Vessels calling at Visakhapatnam, but not discharging or loading cargo, i.e. for bunkers / water / provisions / landing sick seamen, etc.
A) Fees payable to owner's agent - for first 10 days from date of arrival of vessel for attending to any or all of the following functions 1,000.00
i) Attending to customs, port, immigration, health and quarantine formalities, etc.
ii) Supplying bunkers, water, provisions, etc.
iii) Attending to crew, other than signing off/on which is governed by items Nos. 8, 9, 10 and 11
iv) Arranging workshops for minor repairs, if required
v) Any other function not covered by i) to iv) above
B) Additional fees for stay beyond 10 days, per day 45.00
C) Crew sign on/off, transportation, miscellaneous and funding as per Items 8, 9, 10 and 11.
2. Vessels calling at Visakhapatnam for major repairs or services of exceptional nature.
A) Terms to be mutually agreed subject to a minimum fee for first 10 days from date of arrival 1,000.00
B) Additional fee for stay beyond 10 days, per day 50.00
C) Crew sign on/off, transportation, miscellaneous and funding as per items 8, 9, 10 and 11.
3. Vessels discharging or loading liquid cargoes in bulk  
A) Vessels discharging or loading full or part cargo pumped through pipeline or by means of tank lorries or barges (where stay of vessel is up to 3 days from date of arrival) 1,250.00
B) Additional fee for stay beyond 3 days, per day 50.00
C) Crew sign on/off, transportation, miscellaneous and funding as per items 8, 9, 10 and 11.
4. Tramp vessels discharging or loading dry bulk cargoes on liner terms
  Fees payable to agent attending to a vessel loading or discharging dry bulk cargo on liner terms will be as follows:
i) For discharging cargo: 1.5% of gross inward freight
with a minimum of 1,000.00
ii) For loading cargo: 3% of gross outward freight
with a minimum of 1,000.00
iii) Crew sign on/off, transportation, miscellaneous and funding as per items 8, 9, 10 and 11.
5. Vessels discharging or loading bulk cargo on FIO / FIOS / FIOT terms under a charter party/fixture note/booking note
A) Fees payable to owner's agent where vessel is also consigned to such agent for entry with port, customs and stay of vessel up to 14 days from date of arrival:
Where total cargo for loading/discharging is
  Up to 10,000 tons 1,500.00
  Between 10,001 and 15,000 tons 1,650.00
  Between 15,001 and 20,000 tons 1,800.00
  Between 20,001 and 25,000 tons 1,950.00
  Between 25,001 and 30,000 tons 2,100.00
  Between 30,001 and 35,000 tons 2,250.00
  Between 35,001 and 40,000 tons 2,400.00
  Between 40,001 and 45,000 tons 2,550.00
  Between 45,001 and 50,000 tons 2,700.00
  Over 50,000 tons 2,850.00
B) Additional fee for stay beyond 14 days, per day or part thereof 50.00
C) Crew sign on/off, transportation, miscellaneous and funding as per items 8, 9, 10 and 11.
6. Fees payable where vessel not consigned to owners' agent.
A) (i) Fees payable to owners' agents where vessel is not consigned to such agents for entry with port and customs and where stay of vessel is up to 14 days from date of arrival 1,100.00
(ii) Additional fee for stay beyond 14 days, per day or part thereof 50.00
(iii) Crew sign on/off, transportation, miscellaneous and funding as per items 8, 9, 10 and 11.
B) Fees payable to head owner's/original owner's agents where vessel not consigned to such agent for entry with port and customs 800.00
7. Fees payable to charterers' agent.
i) All inclusive fees payable to charterers' agents where vessel consigned to such agent for entry with port and customs, but where separate agent is appointed by owners for attending to their requirements
Where total cargo for loading/discharging is:
  Up to 10,000 tons 1,100.00
  Between 10,001 and 15,000 tons 1,250.00
  Between 15,001 and 20,000 tons 1,400.00
  Between 20,001 and 25,000 tons 1,550.00
  Between 25,001 and 30,000 tons 1,700.00
  Between 30,001 and 35,000 tons 1,850.00
  Between 35,001 and 40,000 tons 2,000.00
  Between 40,001 and 45,000 tons 2,150.00
  Between 45,001 and 50,000 tons 2,300.00
  Over 50,000 tons 2,450.00
NB: This includes transportation and any other charges.  
(ii) All inclusive fees payable to protecting agent appointed by charterers / receivers (including transportation charges) who makes such appointments 800.00
8. Fees for attending to crewmembers.
i) Per crewmember sign on/off/repatriation 50.00
ii) Expenses incurred on airport tax, consular fees, transportation, launch hire, etc. on actuals
9. Miscellaneous.
  Consular fees, visa, launch hire, communication, etc. on actuals
  Subject to a minimum of 500,00
10. Transport for agent to attend vessels. 200.00
11. Funds.
  As required by the Reserve Bank of India Rules, agents must be Placed in funds against proforma disbursements prior to the arrival of the vessel.
12. Conversion rate.
  Conversion of agency commission is at the TT selling rate quoted by any authorised dealer in foreign exchange as prevailing on the date of berthing of the vessel at Visakhapatnam port.
