Does the wall wash inspection definitely tell commercial interests that a cargo can be loaded successfully or not? Assuming a vessel is clean by hiding behind a wall wash result could be seen as bordering on stupidity. The “dilution effect” is the reason why vessels load successfully, not the wall wash specification. Washing Water Analysis significantly reduces confined space entry for the vessels’ crews and cargo surveyors. Washing Water Analysis contributes to a 58% reduction in CO2 emissions during tank cleaning.

It is widely reported that the cyber threat landscape is worsening for maritime organisations. But how is the threat landscape really developing and what are the most likely scenarios which the industry should be aware of? Norwegian Maritime Cyber Resilience Centre - NORMA Cyber has been operational for three years and has more than 100 member organisations and 2,500 vessels among them. One of the things they do is to monitor the threat landscape on a day-to-day basis for their members and handle cyber-related incidents.
