BIMCO is an international association organising training courses, seminars, subcommittee meetings, working groups, etc. worldwide. As a consequence of the current spread of Coronavirus, BIMCO has decided that no BIMCO staff can travel to the Far East until further notice.

Our products include BIMCO’s world leading standard contracts and clauses for the shipping industry and our contract editor IDEA. We also run the BIMCO Shipping KPI System which can be used to benchmark ships’ operational performance.
Regulation: BIMCO takes an active role on behalf of shipowners during discussions and decisions with global and regional regulators. We work towards a level playing field for shipping – including fair trade and open access to markets.
Information and advice: we deal with 10,000 member queries every year on many issues and see over three million page views on our website each year. Our staff share their expert knowledge with members, giving practical advice to safeguard and add value to their businesses.
Our training activities include face-to-face courses, eLearning, webinars and tailor-made courses for companies.

Elena is General Manager of BIMCO for Greece and Cyprus based in Athens. She is also responsible for the execution of BIMCO training and seminars in Greece and Cyprus. Prior to joining BIMCO she worked for a shipowner in Singapore and Athens and before that in the energy sector. She has wide international commercial and managerial experience, a degree in International Marketing and Strategy and speaks 6 languages. Elena is a member of WISTA.

Ayako is Manager in BIMCO’s Training Department, and is responsible for marketing and implementation of BIMCO’s training courses worldwide. Prior to joining BIMCO in 2015, Ayako has worked for various international organisations, including UNICEF, FAO, WFP and UNOPS, and has been responsible for large-scale emergency logistics and coordinated training programs on humanitarian logistics and supply chain management in Asia, Africa, Europe and in the Middle East. Ayako holds a MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science and BA from Boston University.

Anna Wollin, Manager, Contracts and Clauses at BIMCO, is involved in the development of BIMCO’s wide range of standard contracts and clauses. She is a lawyer by training and holds a Master of Commercial Laws from University of Lund, Sweden and a Master of Maritime Laws from Southampton University, England. Anna joined BIMCO in 2007. Her previous employment includes working as a junior judge at a district court in Sweden and as an associate lawyer at a Swedish law firm.
