BIMCO has extended its library of offshore industry standard contracts with the adoption of ASVTIME – a time charter party for accommodation support vessels. Updates of BIMCO’s ocean towage agreements – TOWCON and TOWHIRE – have also been adopted along with a new edition of its charter party for hiring unmanned barges – BARGEHIRE.
BIMCO has been busy updating BARGEHIRE 2008 and the project is close to completion. But before we finalise and publish the new edition in March, we would like to hear the views of barge owners, operators and charterers. There are a variety of circumstances where a tug and tow may need to deviate from the intended course or delay the voyage. This poses a number of questions, which were debated at meetings on 21-22 April by the TOWCON/TOWHIRE revision subcommittee.
