SUPPLYTIME is a time charter party for offshore support vessels. It operates on a knock for knock liability regime, which means that each party agrees to bear responsibility for and indemnify the other in respect of loss of or damage to their own property, and injury to or death of their own personnel, regardless of fault. The Standard Agreement for the Supervision of Vessel Construction, codenamed SUPERMAN, clearly sets out a ship managers’ duties and obligations when providing supervision services to a newbuilding project. It is an agency based agreement whereby the supervisors act for and on behalf of the owners. SUPERMAN is modelled on SHIPMAN 2009 and includes the same structure of liability provisions. BARGEHIRE is a bareboat charter party specifically designed for unmanned, non-self-propelled seagoing barges. It is a lease agreement whereby the charterer obtains possession and full control of the barge along with the legal and financial responsibility for it. The charterer generally pays for operating expenses such as maintenance and repairs but, unlike bareboat chartered ships, barges are often chartered with owner’s insurances made available to the charterer.
