BARGEHIRE is a bareboat charter party specifically designed for unmanned, non-self-propelled seagoing barges. It is a lease agreement whereby the charterer obtains possession and full control of the barge along with the legal and financial responsibility for it. The charterer generally pays for operating expenses such as maintenance and repairs but, unlike bareboat chartered ships, barges are often chartered with owner’s insurances made available to the charterer. Shipmanagers' Letter of Undertaking

The Shipmanagers’ Letter of Undertaking (LoU) is a model letter for use in third party arrangements where shipmanagers maintain and operate the vessel but have no financial involvement or interest in its ownership. The content of the LoU is based on provisions commonly found in market documentation but creates a more equitable starting point for discussions. The BIMCO LoU aims to eliminate the need for often protracted party negotiations where points argued in previous cases are frequently repeated, which can be time-consuming and adds to costs. HEAVYCON 2007

The HEAVYCON voyage charter party is a standard transportation contract for heavy and voluminous cargoes. It is a “knock for knock” contract designed primarily for the semi-submersible vessels serving the super heavy lift market where cargoes are almost exclusively carried on deck and are, in most cases, sole cargoes. HEAVYLIFTVOY is a voyage charter party for the mid-sized heavy lift sector carrying specialist cargo. It is a comprehensive contract providing for free-in or liner in-hook terms for loading and free-out or liner out-hook terms for discharging. HEAVYLIFTVOY operates under the conventional cargo liability regime of the Hague-Visby Rules and is designed for the carriage of multiple shipments both above and below deck.
