SOLAS amendments to enter into force on 1 January 2020

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has issued a set of important amendments to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), as well as various codes mandatory under the Convention. The changes will enter into force on 1 January 2020 and can be viewed below.

SHIPLEASE is a standardised term sheet intended for use in ship sale and leaseback transactions. The term sheet has been principally developed for sale and leaseback transactions involving second-hand ships, but it can be readily adapted to fit structures involving newbuildings or vessels that are undergoing major refit. It is suitable for use for both operating and finance leases, although it may need to be adjusted as appropriate. The latest edition of this contract is SHIPLEASE, issued in 2020.

WORLDFOOD 2017

The United Nations World Food Programme Voyage Charter Party, WORLDFOOD 2017, is a BIMCO approved document to which the UN World Food Programme holds the copyright. The contract is used for shipments of food to emergency areas to save the lives of victims of war, civil conflict and natural disasters. The WORLDFOODRECEIPT 2017 is its accompanying contract of carriage. The latest edition of this contract is WORLDFOOD 2017. 

BARECON 2017

BARECON is a bareboat charter party. It is a lease agreement whereby the charterer obtains possession and full control of the ship along with the legal and financial responsibility for it. SUPPLYTIME 2017

SUPPLYTIME is a time charter party for offshore support vessels. It operates on a knock for knock liability regime, which means that each party agrees to bear responsibility for and indemnify the other in respect of loss of or damage to their own property, and injury to or death of their own personnel, regardless of fault. HEAVYLIFTVOY

HEAVYLIFTVOY is a voyage charter party for the mid-sized heavy lift sector carrying specialist cargo. It is a comprehensive contract providing for free-in or liner in-hook terms for loading and free-out or liner out-hook terms for discharging. HEAVYLIFTVOY operates under the conventional cargo liability regime of the Hague-Visby Rules and is designed for the carriage of multiple shipments both above and below deck.
