Cargoes not listed in the IMSBC Code

BIMCO gets enquiries often in relation to the classification group and carriage requirements of solid bulk cargoes that are not listed in the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes ( IMSBC) Code. BIMCO provides guidance and the course of action required in such cases leading up to having the cargo listed in the IMSBC Code.

BIMCO started reporting from 30 September 2020, a series of articles, informing members of what to expect in the revised International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) Code (Amendment 05-19), which will come into force on 1 January 2021. This is the 4th article in the series. Today, BIMCO reports on the re-classification of Group B cargoes in the IMSBC Code.

IMO to further develop IGF code

BIMCO attended the 5th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO)’s Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC 5) to further develop the International Code of Safety for Ships using Gases or other Low-flashpoint Fuels.
