BIMCO to open Athens office

25 November 2020BIMCO will open its fourth local office, this time in London, at the beginning of 2021. The new office will support the organisation’s regulatory affairs activities with Dr Bev Mackenzie taking up the role of BIMCO’s permanent representative at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) from 1 February, reporting to Deputy Secretary General Lars Robert Pedersen at the head office in Copenhagen.
Panama Maritime Authority to stop grant of extension to Seafarer's Employment Agreement
08 September 2020The Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) will continue to extend the Seafarer's Employment Agreement (SEA) until 14 September 2020. Thereafter, the provisions of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC,2006) as incorporated into the national legislation will have to be complied with.
