Cristan Evans

Cristan Evans is a partner at Stephenson Harwood LLP and specialises in the resolution of shipping and trade disputes. He provides practical, commercial advice with the aim of resolving the most complex disputes in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Cristan acts for shipowners, charterers, cargo interests and their insurers in disputes arising under charterparties, bills of lading and contracts of affreightment. He has acted in Court proceedings and in arbitrations conducted under the LMAA, UNCITRAL, LCIA, FOSFA and GAFTA rules. An experienced commodities lawyer, Cristan also acts in sale contract disputes for buyers and sellers involving commodities such as petroleum products, coal, vegetable oils/oil seeds and biofuels.

Nick is Partner at Stephenson Harwood. Nick specialises in disputes arising from casualties and has extensive experience of handling the “front end” investigation, both from the office and on site. In particular, Nick handles claims following collisions, explosions and fires, groundings, salvage and general average, coverage advice and charterparty disputes.

Andrew Rigden Green

Andrew is a partner at the Hong Kong office of Stephenson Harwood. Andrew is a specialist in marine and international trade matters, including shipbuilding and construction, installation and operation of offshore structures. He is an expert in arbitration, litigation and mediation and is the head of the marine and international trade team in Hong Kong. Andrew has a wide range of experience in dry shipping and international trade and trade finance dispute resolution. He has represented clients in the English and Hong Kong high courts and courts of appeal, in arbitrations in London and Hong Kong and has conducted numerous mediations. He is familiar with LMAA, ICC, HKIAC and GAFTA arbitrations. Andrew has particular experience in jurisdiction disputes and in obtaining injunctions in support of litigation and arbitration.

Paul Herring

Paul Herring is the past Chairman of Ince & Co . He is now an independent consultant and specialises in the resolution of disputes and has particular expertise in ship sale and purchase disputes. His expertise covers most aspects of shipping, with particular emphasis on charter party disputes, carriage of goods by sea, sale and purchase (both contentious and non-contentious) and newbuilding contracts. He has acted frequently in errors and omissions claims for chartering and sale and purchase brokers, ship managers and shipping agents. He is regularly involved in the drafting of newbuilding contracts and the resolution of disputes arising from them. He is co-author of "Sale of Ships – The Norwegian Saleform”.
