GENCON 2022

GENCON is a standard voyage charter party. It is a general purpose agreement for the services of a ship in exchange for freight and can be used in a variety of trades. It is accompanied by its own bill of lading, CONGENBILL 2022. The latest edition of this contract is GENCON 2022. Copyright in GENCON 2022 is held by BIMCO.

e-Bills of Lading

BIMCO has developed and published an electronic bill of lading standard (eBL Standard) for the bulk shipping sector. Our goal is to help accelerate the digitalisation process by establishing common industry standards for electronic bills of lading. The eBL Standard is a structured dataset consisting of 20 predefined data fields that are common to bulk shipping bills of lading.

BIMCO sets sights on a global electronic bill of lading standard

BIMCO is to develop an electronic bill of lading standard for the dry and liquid bulk sectors as a key component of a global initiative to accelerate trade digitalisation.

What’s on the agenda at the BIMCO Documentary Committee meeting

The BIMCO Documentary Committee (DC) will be meeting on 18 May – it will be the first physical meeting since the start of the pandemic. Four important projects are up for adoption: ETSA, the CII Compliance Clause, GENCON 22 and the IOCD Clause for Time Charter Parties.
