Argentina – SENASA Resolution – hold and tank inspections

Overview

New resources available to support BIMCO members with ships calling at Argentine ports.

Following up on our previous article, the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) have published information in the form of a “Resource Guide for Industry” and bridge staff information: “Sign for Vessels”.

BIMCO recommends all members calling Argentine ports to familiarise themselves with the resolution from the National Food and Grain Health Authority (SENASA) - Resolution 693-E/2017 (in Spanish) - and the information provided by MACN is a helpful tool in that respect.

BIMCO would also be interested in hearing about members’ experience with the new procedures during the testing period and we will continue to follow the developments in Argentina. Write to Support and Advice with any experiences or feedback.

VPS Bunker Alerts

Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) publish regular Bunker Alerts based entirely on fuel samples and have kindly permitted BIMCO’s Members to access this information.

The Bunker Alerts are not intended to be an evaluation of overall bunker quality in the port or area concerned, but usually highlight a specific parameter within the fuel which has raised a quality issue.
