The international associations BIMCO, INTERMANAGER, INTERPORTPOLICE, World Shipping Council, and Northeast Maritime Institute are organising what we intend to be a landmark event in the fight against drug smuggling in ships.
The purpose of the event is to explore the untapped potential for improved collaboration and information sharing between law enforcement and the shipping industry. The participants will be drawn from law enforcement officials (e.g., police, customs, navy, coast guard), ship owners, operators, and -managers, intelligence providers, legal advisers, private security companies, academia, etc.
In addition to the co-organisers, confirmed speakers up to now include the following:
Join this free event for a full day of briefings and interactive discussions and help shape the way forward for the shipping industry on how to manage the drug smuggling risks that too often have direct and severe impact on crew members.
Regrettably, the deadline to submit personal data and meet the security protocols laid down by the US Coast Guard Sector-Houston-Galveston has now passed. This is an essential part of the registration process and ensures the safety and security of all participants.
Given these circumstances, we regret to inform you that we are unable to process applications from foreign/non-US visitors for the symposium. We understand this may be disappointing news, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
