On the cusp of the carriage ban for high sulphur fuel oils coming into force, BIMCO gives you an update on the first eight weeks into IMO 2020 Sulphur Cap territory.
The BIMCO members only webinar will start at 10:00 CET and will run for about 45 minutes during which it will be possible to put forward questions.
The IMO 2020 Sulphur Cap has impacted all shipping markets from day 1 in 2020 including the freight market. This webinar will include BIMCO’s Chief Shipping Analysis Peter Sand, who will focus on the changes occurring in the freight market, debating a range of issues including freight rates in USD per tonnes against the TCE quotes. Who pays what in the market? Non-scrubber-fitted ships being the benchmark ship but what does that mean to the ones with a scrubber on board?
Reflecting the importance of this issue, BIMCO will in the coming time offer several webinars for its members addressing key issues about the implementation of the IMO 2020 Sulphur Cap. The market focused webinar will be followed by a webinar on technical issues on 11 March 2020 and a webinar on contractual issues on 17 March 2020. Invitations for these webinars will follow soon. Alternatively keep an eye on the events page on the BIMCO website. A recording of all webinars will be available on the BIMCO website for members.
