Sugar

Description
A carbohydrate product of photosynthesis, occurring naturally in the plant kingdom; greatest quanitites found in sugar cane and sugar beets. Sugar can be either white or brown granules/crystals (depending on type) that are soluble in water and alcohol but insoluble in ether. Low moisture content to the order of 0% to 0.05%. Bulk density: 625-1,000 kg/m3.
Trade Names (Synonyms)
Sucrose - beet sugar - cane sugar - confectioner's sugar - granulated sugar - rock candy - saccharose - saccharum.
