Lead nitrate UN 1469

White crystals soluble in water and alcohol. Obtained from the action of nitrate acid on lead. Used in lead salts, production of matches and pyrotechnics, as sensitizer in photography, explosives, tanning, and as mordant in dyeing and printing calico (heavy cotton fabric) and staining mother of pearl.
