Hydrocarbon wax

Trade name/synonym name

"Hydrocarbon wax" is the proper shipping name for a number of waxes according to MEPC.2/Circ., List 1 effective from December 2017.  "Hydrocarbon wax" will be included in the next edition of IBC Code chapter 17, expected to enter into force 1 January 2021. But as "Hydrocarbon wax" is contained in MEPC.2/Circ. as valid for "all countries", it is possible to use the new classification before 2021

 

Trade names belonging to the entry "Hydrocarbon wax" are for example: SPO Slack wax; LMO Slack wax; Petroleum wax; Mineral wax and many more. Therefore, please obtain cargo specifications before acceptance
